CVE-2021-42717 | 4 Debian, F5, Oracle and 1 more | 5 Debian Linux, Nginx Modsecurity Waf, Http Server and 2 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.5 High |
ModSecurity 3.x through 3.0.5 mishandles excessively nested JSON objects. Crafted JSON objects with nesting tens-of-thousands deep could result in the web server being unable to service legitimate requests. Even a moderately large (e.g., 300KB) HTTP request can occupy one of the limited NGINX worker processes for minutes and consume almost all of the available CPU on the machine. Modsecurity 2 is similarly vulnerable: the affected versions include 2.8.0 through 2.9.4.
CVE-2021-41617 | 6 Fedoraproject, Netapp, Openbsd and 3 more | 15 Fedora, Active Iq Unified Manager, Aff 500f and 12 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.0 High |
sshd in OpenSSH 6.2 through 8.x before 8.8, when certain non-default configurations are used, allows privilege escalation because supplemental groups are not initialized as expected. Helper programs for AuthorizedKeysCommand and AuthorizedPrincipalsCommand may run with privileges associated with group memberships of the sshd process, if the configuration specifies running the command as a different user.
CVE-2021-3712 | 8 Debian, Mcafee, Netapp and 5 more | 36 Debian Linux, Epolicy Orchestrator, Clustered Data Ontap and 33 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.4 High |
ASN.1 strings are represented internally within OpenSSL as an ASN1_STRING structure which contains a buffer holding the string data and a field holding the buffer length. This contrasts with normal C strings which are repesented as a buffer for the string data which is terminated with a NUL (0) byte. Although not a strict requirement, ASN.1 strings that are parsed using OpenSSL's own "d2i" functions (and other similar parsing functions) as well as any string whose value has been set with the ASN1_STRING_set() function will additionally NUL terminate the byte array in the ASN1_STRING structure. However, it is possible for applications to directly construct valid ASN1_STRING structures which do not NUL terminate the byte array by directly setting the "data" and "length" fields in the ASN1_STRING array. This can also happen by using the ASN1_STRING_set0() function. Numerous OpenSSL functions that print ASN.1 data have been found to assume that the ASN1_STRING byte array will be NUL terminated, even though this is not guaranteed for strings that have been directly constructed. Where an application requests an ASN.1 structure to be printed, and where that ASN.1 structure contains ASN1_STRINGs that have been directly constructed by the application without NUL terminating the "data" field, then a read buffer overrun can occur. The same thing can also occur during name constraints processing of certificates (for example if a certificate has been directly constructed by the application instead of loading it via the OpenSSL parsing functions, and the certificate contains non NUL terminated ASN1_STRING structures). It can also occur in the X509_get1_email(), X509_REQ_get1_email() and X509_get1_ocsp() functions. If a malicious actor can cause an application to directly construct an ASN1_STRING and then process it through one of the affected OpenSSL functions then this issue could be hit. This might result in a crash (causing a Denial of Service attack). It could also result in the disclosure of private memory contents (such as private keys, or sensitive plaintext). Fixed in OpenSSL 1.1.1l (Affected 1.1.1-1.1.1k). Fixed in OpenSSL 1.0.2za (Affected 1.0.2-1.0.2y).
CVE-2021-3711 | 6 Debian, Netapp, Openssl and 3 more | 32 Debian Linux, Active Iq Unified Manager, Clustered Data Ontap and 29 more | 2024-11-21 | 9.8 Critical |
In order to decrypt SM2 encrypted data an application is expected to call the API function EVP_PKEY_decrypt(). Typically an application will call this function twice. The first time, on entry, the "out" parameter can be NULL and, on exit, the "outlen" parameter is populated with the buffer size required to hold the decrypted plaintext. The application can then allocate a sufficiently sized buffer and call EVP_PKEY_decrypt() again, but this time passing a non-NULL value for the "out" parameter. A bug in the implementation of the SM2 decryption code means that the calculation of the buffer size required to hold the plaintext returned by the first call to EVP_PKEY_decrypt() can be smaller than the actual size required by the second call. This can lead to a buffer overflow when EVP_PKEY_decrypt() is called by the application a second time with a buffer that is too small. A malicious attacker who is able present SM2 content for decryption to an application could cause attacker chosen data to overflow the buffer by up to a maximum of 62 bytes altering the contents of other data held after the buffer, possibly changing application behaviour or causing the application to crash. The location of the buffer is application dependent but is typically heap allocated. Fixed in OpenSSL 1.1.1l (Affected 1.1.1-1.1.1k).
CVE-2021-3541 | 4 Netapp, Oracle, Redhat and 1 more | 29 Active Iq Unified Manager, Cloud Backup, Clustered Data Ontap and 26 more | 2024-11-21 | 6.5 Medium |

There's a flaw in lz4. An attacker who submits a crafted file to an application linked with lz4 may be able to trigger an integer overflow, leading to calling of memmove() on a negative size argument, causing an out-of-bounds write and/or a crash. The greatest impact of this flaw is to availability, with some potential impact to confidentiality and integrity as well.
CVE-2021-3517 | 6 Debian, Fedoraproject, Netapp and 3 more | 30 Debian Linux, Fedora, Active Iq Unified Manager and 27 more | 2024-11-21 | 8.6 High |
There is a flaw in the xml entity encoding functionality of libxml2 in versions before 2.9.11. An attacker who is able to supply a crafted file to be processed by an application linked with the affected functionality of libxml2 could trigger an out-of-bounds read. The most likely impact of this flaw is to application availability, with some potential impact to confidentiality and integrity if an attacker is able to use memory information to further exploit the application.
CVE-2021-3516 | 6 Debian, Fedoraproject, Netapp and 3 more | 10 Debian Linux, Fedora, Clustered Data Ontap and 7 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.8 High |
There's a flaw in libxml2's xmllint in versions before 2.9.11. An attacker who is able to submit a crafted file to be processed by xmllint could trigger a use-after-free. The greatest impact of this flaw is to confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
CVE-2021-3449 | 13 Checkpoint, Debian, Fedoraproject and 10 more | 172 Multi-domain Management, Multi-domain Management Firmware, Quantum Security Gateway and 169 more | 2024-11-21 | 5.9 Medium |
An OpenSSL TLS server may crash if sent a maliciously crafted renegotiation ClientHello message from a client. If a TLSv1.2 renegotiation ClientHello omits the signature_algorithms extension (where it was present in the initial ClientHello), but includes a signature_algorithms_cert extension then a NULL pointer dereference will result, leading to a crash and a denial of service attack. A server is only vulnerable if it has TLSv1.2 and renegotiation enabled (which is the default configuration). OpenSSL TLS clients are not impacted by this issue. All OpenSSL 1.1.1 versions are affected by this issue. Users of these versions should upgrade to OpenSSL 1.1.1k. OpenSSL 1.0.2 is not impacted by this issue. Fixed in OpenSSL 1.1.1k (Affected 1.1.1-1.1.1j).
CVE-2021-3426 | 6 Debian, Fedoraproject, Netapp and 3 more | 11 Debian Linux, Fedora, Cloud Backup and 8 more | 2024-11-21 | 5.7 Medium |
There's a flaw in Python 3's pydoc. A local or adjacent attacker who discovers or is able to convince another local or adjacent user to start a pydoc server could access the server and use it to disclose sensitive information belonging to the other user that they would not normally be able to access. The highest risk of this flaw is to data confidentiality. This flaw affects Python versions before 3.8.9, Python versions before 3.9.3 and Python versions before 3.10.0a7.
CVE-2021-3177 | 6 Debian, Fedoraproject, Netapp and 3 more | 12 Debian Linux, Fedora, Active Iq Unified Manager and 9 more | 2024-11-21 | 9.8 Critical |
Python 3.x through 3.9.1 has a buffer overflow in PyCArg_repr in _ctypes/callproc.c, which may lead to remote code execution in certain Python applications that accept floating-point numbers as untrusted input, as demonstrated by a 1e300 argument to c_double.from_param. This occurs because sprintf is used unsafely.
CVE-2021-36690 | 3 Apple, Oracle, Sqlite | 6 Iphone Os, Macos, Tvos and 3 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.5 High |
A segmentation fault can occur in the sqlite3.exe command-line component of SQLite 3.36.0 via the idxGetTableInfo function when there is a crafted SQL query. NOTE: the vendor disputes the relevance of this report because a sqlite3.exe user already has full privileges (e.g., is intentionally allowed to execute commands). This report does NOT imply any problem in the SQLite library.
CVE-2021-34798 | 9 Apache, Broadcom, Debian and 6 more | 21 Http Server, Brocade Fabric Operating System Firmware, Debian Linux and 18 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.5 High |
Malformed requests may cause the server to dereference a NULL pointer. This issue affects Apache HTTP Server 2.4.48 and earlier.
CVE-2021-33503 | 4 Fedoraproject, Oracle, Python and 1 more | 10 Fedora, Enterprise Manager Ops Center, Instantis Enterprisetrack and 7 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.5 High |
An issue was discovered in urllib3 before 1.26.5. When provided with a URL containing many @ characters in the authority component, the authority regular expression exhibits catastrophic backtracking, causing a denial of service if a URL were passed as a parameter or redirected to via an HTTP redirect.
CVE-2021-31618 | 4 Apache, Debian, Fedoraproject and 1 more | 6 Http Server, Debian Linux, Fedora and 3 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.5 High |
Apache HTTP Server protocol handler for the HTTP/2 protocol checks received request headers against the size limitations as configured for the server and used for the HTTP/1 protocol as well. On violation of these restrictions and HTTP response is sent to the client with a status code indicating why the request was rejected. This rejection response was not fully initialised in the HTTP/2 protocol handler if the offending header was the very first one received or appeared in a a footer. This led to a NULL pointer dereference on initialised memory, crashing reliably the child process. Since such a triggering HTTP/2 request is easy to craft and submit, this can be exploited to DoS the server. This issue affected mod_http2 1.15.17 and Apache HTTP Server version 2.4.47 only. Apache HTTP Server 2.4.47 was never released.
CVE-2021-30641 | 5 Apache, Debian, Fedoraproject and 2 more | 8 Http Server, Debian Linux, Fedora and 5 more | 2024-11-21 | 5.3 Medium |

In Python before 3,9,5, the ipaddress library mishandles leading zero characters in the octets of an IP address string. This (in some situations) allows attackers to bypass access control that is based on IP addresses.
CVE-2021-28957 | 6 Debian, Fedoraproject, Lxml and 3 more | 7 Debian Linux, Fedora, Lxml and 4 more | 2024-11-21 | 6.1 Medium |
An XSS vulnerability was discovered in python-lxml's clean module versions before 4.6.3. When disabling the safe_attrs_only and forms arguments, the Cleaner class does not remove the formaction attribute allowing for JS to bypass the sanitizer. A remote attacker could exploit this flaw to run arbitrary JS code on users who interact with incorrectly sanitized HTML. This issue is patched in lxml 4.6.3.
CVE-2021-26691 | 6 Apache, Debian, Fedoraproject and 3 more | 10 Http Server, Debian Linux, Fedora and 7 more | 2024-11-21 | 9.8 Critical |
